Instrument Transformers are the most vital link for isolation in any power distribution system. The fact now recognized by industry is, that good quality, precision built CT/PTs are ultimately much more economical & provide trouble free efficient service for a longer period at minimum operational cost.
DESIGN, CHARACTERISTICS & RAW MATERIALSPECIFICATIONS
The Current Transformer design and the Core must be carefully selected for its accuracy as excitation current is essentially subtracted from metered current and thus affects the ratio & phase angle of output current. In other words, “More the excitation current, less the accuracy of the CT”.
Keeping in view the above, we use low loss, high permeable, non ageing & non deteriorating CRGO Core. MUMETALcore is used where High Metering Accuracy is required.
Core winding is also calculated to evenly spread the stress and avoid concentration at any one point.
High quality insulation material and sufficient layers of PVC/fiberglass/cotton tape are provided to ensure optimum insulation. ABS covers used are fire retardant, mechanically strong with high di-electric strength and protect the CT's from humidity and dust.
Resin cast CTs are processed by hot curing method under completely controlled vacuum conditions. Sufficient curing period in the oven is allowed after molding to ensure perfect setting with smooth anti tracking surface. This results in an impermeable insulation which keeps the winding free from adverse effects of any vibration, moisture, fumes or other atmospheric interference.
QUALITYASSURANCE:
We source our materials from top companies in their respective field. All inputs are allowed to enter the assembly line after passing all quality checks and tests so as to conform to set specifications.
Each product undergoes process testing during various different stages of production & after final finishing.
TEST LAB FACILITY:
We have an In House Lab facility to conduct Accuracy and Dielectric Insulation Tests.
All our CTs are process and final tested and test reports provided in our upgraded testing facilities on the Eltel - AITTS Plus which is NABLcertified.
At suitable intervals, CTs are tested at independent Test labs like CPRI & ERDA.
